你为什么问我？可以问那听见的人，我对他们说的是什么。看哪，我所说的，他们都知道。 Why do you question Me? Question those who have heard Me, concerning what I spoke to them; behold, these know what I said. |

耶稣说了这些话，旁边站着的一个差役，用手掌打祂，说，你这样回答大祭司么？ And when He said these things, one of the attendants standing by slapped Jesus, saying, Is that how You answer the high priest? |

耶稣回答说，我若说的不对，你可以指证那里不对；若说的对，你为什么打我？ Jesus answered him, If I have spoken wrongly, testify concerning the wrong; but if rightly, why do you strike Me? |

亚那把耶稣仍然捆着，解到大祭司该亚法那里去。 Annas then sent Him bound to Caiaphas the high priest. |

西门彼得正站着烤火，有人对他说，你不也是祂的门徒么？彼得不承认，说，我不是。 Now Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. Then they said to him, Are you not also one of His disciples? He denied and said, I am not. |
Enlightenment:
The Lord was examined by the Jews according to the law of God in their religion (18:12-27). This examination was a very unpleasant thing. The Lord even suffered it in front of the denial of one of the closest disciples (18:17-18; 25-27). While He was being examined, Peter denied Him three times. Would you have been able to suffer this? If this had happened to us, we would certainly have rebuked Peter. But the Lord did not say a word.

主为犹太人按着他们宗教中神的律法所察验。（约十八12～27。）这次察验是很不愉快的，主甚至被一个最亲近的门徒所否认。（约十八17～18，25～27。）当祂受察验时，彼得三次否认祂。你能忍受这事吗？这事若临到我们，我们一定会斥责彼得；但主一句话都不说。
